There's still another article in the Los Angeles Times today (2/11/09) about the octuplets born in Bellflower, California. The article states we taxpayers will be paying for these kids.

What I want to know is what the definition of "taxpayer" means. Is it solely Los Angeles County based? Is it the entire state of California?

I apologize if this thread is in the wrong forum, but since the births happened in Los Angeles County, I'm starting here.

Depends on what the taxpayers are paying for. Protection from North Korean nukes? Federal taxpayers.

Probably Medi-Cal will pick up the hospital tab. Food Stamps I believe are state funded and county distributed.

In this case, I do believe its the "national" taxpayers that will be paying for the hospital costs.

It depends on what type of aid she is collecting from which agency. Your tax dollars are divided among city, county, state and federal. The last three are involved in health services in one way or another.
