Hi all,

My husband is working in El Segundo, and I'm working in Long Beach. We are considering to purchase a home around Cerritos/Artesia area, but I'm not that familiar with the city.

Can someone please tell me where the bad part of those cities I should avoid? Where I should shoot for? We've just started looking, and know to avoid west of Long Beach. But that's all I know.

Thank you in advance,

Dee

If you stick to cerritos you're pretty much fine. The only area I'd avoid is directly bordering Cerritos City College.. on 166th(and parts north) east of norwalk or pioneer.

I'd also add the bulk of Lakewood. East of Lakewood Mall/Lakewood Blvd and west of the 605 fwy.

I'm sorry for not understanding your sentence. You mean to add the bulk of Lakewood to avoid? or part of the better one?

Thanks again.

bulk of Lakewood is acceptable, avoid the areas east of Lakewood Mall/Lakewood Blvd and west of the 605 fwy(though the area of the 605 isnt all that bad, but much higher population density and more unkempt properties.. lakewood kind of neglects the area as well[former unincorporated LA county]. if you do look there, stick between Del Amo and Centralia. the area east of bloomfield between those streets and the neighborhood around palms park are the best in that part of lakewood)

Lakewood is great. South of Lakewood blvd east of the 91 freeway all the way to Belmont Shores in LB is nice.

Oh, also, Downtown Long Beach and Coastal Long Beach looks like its going through a bit of a Renaissance, it'll be interesting to see how nice it can get.

I think he/she means to avoid the areas west of Lakewood Mall and East of the 605.
