Yes a lot of Malibu City is spread along twenty or so miles of the PCH but thats the price you pay.
Try living in Stone Canyon Rd without a car!
None of Southern California is really walkable like NYC or London and I never considered London as walkable unless you can afford to waste half of your life.
California is a car culture,it was designed and built that way.
Malibu is a real community and is totally safe if you have kids or plan to have kids they will thank you for moving here.
Plenty of very rich people live here and some have lived here for a long time,they can live anywhere in LA, California, America or the entire World but they live here in Malibu that should tell you something.
When was the last time any of you walked more than one mile with a small child??

MB is the best! I love it here and have 2 little sisters who go to the beach everyday and ride bikes and stuff.
Its a good place for anyone(single or family)
