Chelsea Williams I think is really good. Best singer there by far. Was there this afternoon, she was selling cd's very quickly.

Josh Vietti is also good too, the guy who plays electric violin.

Who are the two guys that play guitar together? They always get a huge crowd.

-The strangest street performers...

-Who's the guy that yells/whistles, while balancing on one hand, lol. Usually just south of arizona, down about 15-20 feet from the johnny rockets. Sounds like a bird call. Only in Santa Monica.

The silver robot man is also pretty cool, havent seen him in awhile.

There also use to be a guy that spun basketballs around, havent seen him in a few years I think.

I've been there at least 5 times and only saw one performer I liked. A guitarist named Estas Tonne. My wife, who was my girlfriend at the time, liked him too so I bought a CD from him. I saw the silver guy too. Also, some really bad and corny music acts, like a one man band. 3 guys playing steel drums, as if one doesn't give you a headache after 5 minutes, imagine 3 of them. Some guys that do flips and break dancing, some chick who sings and plays acoustic in her dirty bare feet, and some so called muicians who are terrible at playing odd instruments like pan flutes. I never saw the electric violin guy though.

I heard a story on KCRW today called "'Playing For Change' And Peace Through Music" which featured Roger Ridley who plays guitar on the streets of Santa Monica. (I don't know if I am allowed to post the link but I tried.)

I like the guy that plays the cello and the two guys that play the latin sounding guitar music. Can't stand the little girls singing I Will Always Love You.

I know its a stereotype, but you wonder how much pressure the parents put on young kids who are out performing on the street....i.e., I think there are two little girls on the promenade. Also a young boy, maybe 12 or 13 and his dad do acrobatic tricks. They seem european.
