They are by far the branches favorite item to sell. It cost like an extra $1.50 compared to regular fries for basically a piece of cheese. Chesse cost like ten cents. You can get the sauce in a packet if you ask for it just like ketchup. Onions...probably another ten cents? Thats is $1.30 profit on each anmial style fries. Animal style burgers cost just as much as a normal burger. I really do not understand why anyone would pay that much extra for Animal fries. I never have nor will.

I have never tried them but they do sound pretty tasty to me. I can see why they charge so much more. It is like sodas in any fast food or other restaurant. or booze, huge mark up, but people will pay it!!!

Overall, I don't see what all the hoopla is about either w/ In 'n Out. Their cheeseburgers are one of the best in my area, but I like their fries the least of all places.

I think The Great Steak & Fry has the best turkey philly sandwich & fries!

What hoopla is there? They are good fast food burgers that blow the usual chain burger spots, MdDonalds etc out of the water. In and Out is one of those places where the more popular they get the more people try to counter their popularity with "overrated" statements. Overrated based on what? People like what they like.

I went to steak and shake only once. They are too greasy and they charge to much for what you get.

Yeah, I just noticed this today when I got a milk shake! It use to be exactly $2.00 with tax, now its $2.11. At least here the increases were all very modest, 5~10 cents per item.

I think the burgers are pretty tasty, and they're pretty decently priced, but honestly I wouldn't say they're the best in the world (that honor would go to either Fuddrucker's or Hut's). The fries were a little dry, and apparently that's the general consensus. Now I tell you what I do like are the shakes! Those things are legit.

Perhaps because you like them? Do you suggest that someone comes with their own cheese and grilled onions and makes their own?

Also, the cost of the ingredients is not the only cost. It takes them a bit to make the animal fries, about the same time as a double-double. Where as the standard fries are rather quick.

I'm happy to pay ~$2.70 for them.
