At a time that we have to move out of OC to LA due to job restraints, this thread is very interesting to me. It is 90 degrees out in the valley and 70 here. I know it is apples and oranges, but nonetheless we will miss the OC for now.

If a middle-income family guy, prob would want to live and work in Irvine area for cheaper, newer houses; good schools; clean air and temperate coastal weather; and short commutes

If an affluent single guy, would want to live and work on LA's Westside for all the obvious reasons

But the rest of the vast LA region (obviously Irvine is just another suburban corridor like 1000 Oaks or Pasadena) has many unpleasant "issues" like most parts of any major urban region anywhere in world

LOL- the 5 near Disneyland is what, 15 lanes wide..?!? Wouldn't want rapid transit or anything to ruin those 'beautiful' freeways.

I'm a middle-class family guy and I live in Los Angeles, right down the street from one of the best schools in the City. My house was built in 1964. My air is as clean as anything down the freeway in OC. I live 5 miles from work and often take rapid transit.

Does the Interstate have travel jams at all?

When I think of Orange County.... I think of what it was like to grow up there from 1960 on. This was before all the cookie cutter communities and people with "money".

Would have guessed the men probably have to make pretty high salaries or money just to live there like more like nerd or professional many places there seem everyone is in daily routine and must work and really no time for nonsense or really pointless things that dont last a long time makes it really not like la at all.

I'll convert a line from Braveheart. "The problem with (the OC), is that it's full of (people from the OC)"

Too bad. It's got nice weather.

I don't see any problem with the OC.
