Ok, I live in Inglewood. A decent quiet block on 112th and Doty, like anyone knows where that is. My neighbor has this really annoying trailer in their backyard and someone actually lives in it, their yard is a mess and their garbages reek. Can i call the city to do something about this crap? The trailer blocks the window of the house I rent to a respectable family. What should I do?

Contact Code Enforcement:

Inglewood Website - Code Enforcement

For the trailer issue the following is the part of the City's Municipal Code you can cite:

Article 21.1. MOBILE HOME REGULATIONS

For the garbage/yard maintenance issues the following is the part of the City's Municipal Code you can cite:

Section 11-104. Owner to Keep Premises Clean.

thanks for that, do you guys think I should call? I sort of feel bad for the fellow who lives in the trailer if they come for it.
also, i always get letters from the city if there is a little patch of weeds on my sidewalk. How the hell havent they noticed this?!?

call the city. you(or your tenants) have the same right to a nice neat neighborhood as anyone else.

Yes, you should definitely call. If you don't stick up for yourself, no one will -- and the city will be the one doing the enforcement anyway. While you feel bad for the guy in the trailer, do you think he feels bad for your tenant or for you? There are laws about this for a reason. It hurts your property value and the overall neighborhood.

ok guys, so i called two weeks ago and the trailer is still there. the person said they've been cited and had 2 weeks to move it, another two with a fine if they fail, and yet another two before they are taken to court. This is really annoying, the trailer smells bad.

well at least you called. It sounds like they have a total of 6 weeks, 2 to move, 2 before a fine and 2 more before going to court...How sad..

It's really too bad that it will take that long to get the problem (hopefully) resolved. However, it's more effective than if you'd never called at all .....
