Condos in 90210...uhoh...i can hear the NIMBY's already...

Actually, wouldn't that be great if it was low income housing for all the nannies and gardeners who work in the area. Now that would be justice.

I've seen low income housing where the rent was over $2000 per month. I've also seen it where incomes up to $4,000 per month for a single person qualified them. Low income housing isn't what everbody thinks it is.

I won't be in a position to buy a house for another 4-5 years. I'm hoping that prices won't have risen out of control again by then...

You might have it perfectly timed.

There's another wave of mortgage resets coming in the next few years. The belief is these resets will hit the higher end houses a lot more than last year's reset.

It's anyone's guess.
If you buy what you can afford when you can afford it you'll be alright; unfortunately most people didn't do that.

YouTube - The Mortgage Meltdown

I keep thinking of a scene in the Simpsons where Chief Wiggum got his necktie caught in something like a clothes wringer or a pencil sharpener.

His observation: This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
