Forced to relocate and considering a rental in Highland Park, specifically around Farnam St and Ave 49. Trying to research the area. Safety is of the utmost importance. Anyone know anything about this area? I get very mixed signals about Highland Park and was hoping for some info from others in the area. Thanks!

These two statements are entirely incompatible.

HLP is spotty. some parts are nice. some arent.

the best you could do is to go to the area and walk about. thats the only way to get a feel for it.

and you can check out the LAPD crime stats. people have posted links prior.

its not that bad. its actually become a "hip" place. even featured in the NYPost or times or something.

its a community on the move.

Highland Park is one of those gentrifying neighborhoods.

But be careful....the Chicano hipsters get mad at the regular hipsters...scary!
