My wife has been looking at psychology graduate schools and stumbled upon Argosy. She filled out a form on their website for information, and 15 minutes later she received a call from them. Today they called again and were quite pushy and told her that an advisor would call tomorrow to have a 45 minute chat about attending the school.

She repeatedly told the rep that she is going into her final year and we are not looking to move to Los Angeles for another year (we're in Missouri right now). They were quite pushy and she is a self-admitted doormat for people. We don't like the forcefulness so far, and have found better schools out there so far. Has anyone had any experience with the school?

I don't have any personal experience with this school, but I'd be leery of any institution that's this pushy. I looked at their website, and it's apparently a for-profit school (not that that's necessarily a bad thing), with locations all over the country. The accreditation seems to be spotty, but I could be wrong -- it's a little difficult to decipher what programs are accredited where ...

If you've found better schools, that's where you should probably look.

Hm, I don't know what happened to my post? I guess I'll type it again!

I had a horrible experience with Argosy - San Bernardino last year. They're very sketchy. They were very pushy & desperate. Called for MONTHS & even after I e-mailed them to let them know I'd decided on another school, 3 different people called & e-mailed to question me & to try & convince me to go with them. & like Dark of the Moon said, their accreditation is very spotty!
