Hi all. I just relocated for an assignment to the LA area. Back East, Sunday morning was our fresh bagel morning. Any good recommendations for excellent bagels so we can continue our little tradition? We're willing to drive almost anywhere 45 mins or so South of LA.

I heard of a shop in Orange County that ships in water from NYC, and is only open for part of the year. Is this true??

Thanks!

And if they really did execute this gimmick, they'd pass those expensive shipping charges on to the suckers who actually believe the bagels taste better.

I'm probably gonna take some flak for this... but I think Noah's makes a perfectly good bagel. I know it's a chain... but I still think it's good.

I love Western Bagel. You didn't say what part of town you are in, so here's the website www.westernbagel.com. They open at 5:00 am, and I know that you can smell them baking at the West LA location in the wee hours.

I've had my fair share of bagels all over the country.

Western Bagels, hands down, has the best bagels I have ever had.

And ew@ Noahs... SO bad.
