Hi there,
After I graduate from high school, I'd really like to move to Los Angeles. My dad will most likely be my problem. I'm from New Orleans,LA and L.A. is 27 hours away. Anyway, the reason I want to move there is because of my dream job. I want to work at a record label and get really involved in the music business. I love music so much and I have a really huge passion for it.

Do any of you have advice on how to land a job at a record label? Thank you for your advice ahead of time.

Don't listen to your dad. What does he know about music anyway?

Go for it, follow your dream.
Don't listen to the naysayers.
You can do anything if you try.
You only have one life.
Live the dream.
Don't "settle" for just a "job".

You can do it.

Have you considered Nashville? It is only 7 hours away.

Yes, I've definitely considered Nashville and Belmont University. A plus is I love country music so much as well. But, ever since I was about 12 I always wanted to move to Los Angeles. I'm now 17, and will be 18 in December. Last year for my birthday/Christmas, I visited LA for the first time and fell in love. I love Nashville too, but LA is for me. I'm thinking reality now, no fantasy world stuff (as my dad calls it).

Exactly. Don't let your dad snuff your desires.

Why live in New Orleans when you can live here?

Nashville is no comparison to Los Angeles. Sure they have a "scene" but it seems like it's always been the place people go to that can't afford L.A. I hear Austin TX is thriving with music, but not really the country stuff, more Alternative. Today's country isn't even country it's hopped up commercial poop that has strayed so far from it's root that it's nothing short of laughable. Want good modern country?.... Hank III. Nuff said.
Good luck to you!!!! L.A. is a great city despite the naysayers and haters who will sway you.

If you have ever followed Charle's posts, you would realize that he is being sarcastic. The house in the photo is in the millions of dollars.

Also, sorry to crush your dreams, but the record industry is dying. The internet is killing it off. In the future, music will be sold online directly from the artists etc.
