We will be traveling from New Port beach to West Hollywood on a Friday, leaving about 12:30. We want to take the Coast Highway until at least Seal Beach. Having read so much about the horrors of 405 traffic, is there another route we could take to W. Hollywood from there?
Thanks for the help.

you have multiple options from seal beach, all of which will require atleast some travel on the 405. I wouldn't stay on the 405 past the 110 though because that will put you out of your way. from the 405, i would either take the 605N>5N>60W>10W, 710N>5N>60W>10W, or lastly 110N>10W. you'll want to check traffic conditions before deciding which route to take. also, depending on what part of west hollywood you're going to, you'll either want to exit fairfax, la cienega, or robertson.

Default thanks

Thanks for your help. I think we'll try the first, if traffic reports check out ok.

This is probably too late, but West Hollywood isn't really very close to any freeway. The 10 (either Fairfax or La Cienega exits), 405 (Santa Monica up through Sunset will all work), or the 101 (Sunset exit works best) are the closest freeways, depending on what direction you're coming from. You will have 15-20 minutes on surface streets no matter which freeway you use.
