Does anyone have a list of movies currently being filmed, or that were filmed this year in LA? I know lots of states have tax breaks for filmmakers, but is it true that there are literally no movies being filmed in California right now?

From what I read at filmL.A., Inc filming is down 24.5%. That seems like a big drop. That doesn't mean that no movies are being filmed though as the statistics stated only a drop in the amount of permitted days per a year.

I am thinking that the OP is looking for the names of actual films. Many times that is hard to offer because productions may have a working title and not a final title within the production. In films that are sequals chances are the name problem is solved, or when the movie is billing it self after a book. Even then problems may arise and a name change will take place.

The LA Times has the list of feature films, commercials, and television shows being shot on location in L.A. County each week. I believe they get the data from Film L.A. though. The Times just has it in an easy to read format/list right in the Business Section. The include the name of the movies usually if they know them.

Downtown Filming Notifications | photos, news and views on eecue.com - (dave bullock)
Here is a map of places being used for filming in downtown. As you can see most of them are commercials and TV shows. But, kind of gives you an idea of how much filming is done here, and that is just downtown. I kind of doubt that the 25% drop is from filming being taken elsewhere and more likely it is from less on location filming and more in studio work.

There has been a film crew at USC for a couple days, their film signs say "Savant" on them. Not sure what that is.

It is hard to drive around without seeing a film crew or at least a sign directing towards a film location.
Just look for this type of sign:

Thanks guys. Movies re definitely moving out of state. I'm in Michigan, and they are filming tons of movies here now. Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton were just here recently. I even auditioned to be in a Drew Barrymore film. I am moving to LA soon, and I hope there will be work there l;eft for me!

As much as they are filming here in my state, they are still casting everything in LA. Actors, producers, makeup artists, even caterers.
