It annoys the living crap out of me that pretty much every store turns the checkout process into an opportunity to solicit donations, credit cards, rewards systems, magazine subscriptions and misc other products/services. Especially when there are long lines and it takes employees an inordinate amount of time to process transactions.

Yet another reason to just shop online.

It will buy everything in the future - those whithout it will need to be well stocked or grow their own food (see Revelation).

I can't believe people are wangsting about this, honestly.

I click "no." If they ask, I say "no." Most of the time. Sometimes I'm like "yeah, let's give a buck to starving kids or whatever." But 99% of the time, I decline. I have never once felt judged for doing so, because, well, nearly everyone else declines it, too.

If anything, I think it's good that they solicit donations for apolitical causes that benefit cancer/lukemia/MS research and treatment, food for kids, etc.

No cards necessary at Stater Bros, thank God.

Sometimes I'll give a dollar because it's such an easy opportunity to donate a small amount that can add up. And if not, I smile and say, "Not today, thanks!". Have not been glared at or assaulted in parking lot yet....this is not a problem, folks.

The Vons here in Nevada is the worst.
After they hit you up for a donation --and if your foolish enough to give it to them--the clerk gets over the loud speaker and SCREAMS: WHOOO-HOOOO! ANOTHER {dollar amount} DONATION! THANK YOU!

It kills me every time.
So much so that I stopped going there over the summer and shop elsewhere.
