Okay, I pretty much know by now that I'm the sole person in southern California who likes to talk endlessly about weather but here goes.

It is SO NICE AND COOL OUT TODAY. I feel a just-slight crispness right now coming in my window...

It whispers of fall on the horizon.

It's just a tease (we used to get teasers like this on the east coast too) because the heat will go up again; we're only at mid-August now. BUT it's just so nice.

Today feels like a little slice of heaven and makes me feel so much better than the rotten mood I've been in these past prior few days.

The air even smells different when it's cooler! It smells like good earth and leaves.

Well, the air smells different and we have an awesome sunset because SB is on fire, but yes, great weather. I just fear for the 2 or 3 more heat waves that are inevitable before Halloween and the fall cooldown

I don't smell fire...crap, that's terrible. I feel bad for those people. We're lucky right here because so far we've been spared fires in general (touch wood) though sometimes when they're geographically close enough, yes, the sky is scary and orange and you can definitely smell it.

Yes, we'll surely get more heat waves but this breaking-through coolness is just such a nice nice tease! And a nice little break. I love it.

I think the fall cool down will be early this year.

I love this weather, too! I went for a walk in the park today, and the breeze was wonderful!

I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop, though. It seems that we always get three months of hot weather each year, so I'm just waiting for September, October, and November to be really bad. I hope that doesn't happen!

I love the cool weather because it means a less expensive utility bill at the end of the month!
