How much stuff do you have? How valuable is it?

Check out this site Moving: How to avoid Moving Company Scams
and the BBB

Movers is something you don't want to skimp on, trust me. You need to hire a company that is reputable regardless of the price.

I made the move cross-country a couple times when I was younger; I didn't have that expensive of furniture, e.g. Ikea, West Elm, some pottery barn etc. I sold most of it and gave a lot of it away. Then I shipped most of my other valuables via Fedex or UPS (15 large boxes) and then I used that website to find a reputable car shipper.

The other time I made the move, I again used Fedex to ship most of my stuff in order to get my belonging to more like a 1 bedroom; then I used a moving company -- in short, the moving comp. I choose wasn't my best experience and I wish I had done more due diligence.
