hello

i am currently living in europe but me and my daughter will be moving to my fiancee begin of next year to get married

my man works in lawndale, so we are looking for a rental apartment nearby (not in lawndale though). we like the bay area, considering hermosa beach, redondo beach or rancho palos verdes.

the most important for us is our little daughter (3 1/2 years old). she will need a fulltime daycare/preschool begin of next year (so i am starting to look now), the school should offer small groups and a loving environment, preferably it should be located in a natural area (not located on a main street).

also, considering the fact that we are an interracial couple (man: black, woman: white, daugther: light brown) i would love a living area and preschool with a diverse culture/different ethnic groups.

considering a short commute/travel to work in lawndale, a good preschool and decent rental prices in a safe living area: does anyone have suggestions for us?

thank you very much ahead!!

I think you might have your locations mixed up. The "Bay Area" is no where near L.A. The Bay Area is in Northern California and it includes San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose just to name a few of the big cities. The Bay Area is about a 5-6 hour drive North of LA. So be careful when you use the term "Bay Area" because people in California will assume you are talking about Northern California.

I think the term she was wanted was South Bay. kcee51 is correct, when one hears Bay Area around here, we think of San Francisco Bay. No big deal MovintgtoLA, there are lots of bays in California, we just get used to certain names.

I am not all that familiar with the South Bay and can provide no recommendations. I will say, however, the interracial relationship should not be a problem anywhere in California.

Welcome to California.

Thanks for clearing that up! Sometimes I just assume people know that the SF Bay is the only "Bay Area" here in California lol. I must say it confused me when I read she was moving LA and wanted to live in the Bay Area/South Bay. That would be one hell of a drive . Don't worry MovingtoLA you will soon learn all the California lingo =)

i hope so! i still think for her own identification it might be nice to have "similar-looking" kids around, thats why we want to include that factor in our search for apartment/preschool.

thanks again.

One of my grandchildren attended the preschool below. The woman who runs it is from Europe and is fantastic. The school is in a safe residential area of North Redondo Beach. The cost was also reasonable compared to some of the other preschools in the area. Worth a look. My grandchild was very happy there.
