how about... food not lawns...

where i live now, having moved from so. cal to OR (i was an angeleno most of my life so please don't hate me for posting) - i noticed right away the lack of front yard vanity prevalent in a majority of homes here.

here, in eugene, it's common for the lawn to go brown for the warm season. also, the lawns tend to look very bumpy.

the upside to the front yards here in eugene: almost everyone has flower bulbs. hence, the houses that look run down have a showy natural display when it's warm enough. even the poor have pretties in their yard, by the dozens!

the whole water industry is corrupt in so. cal. good luck, you guys.

This thread is going nowhere fast, isn't focused enough on local issues, and I'm closing it down.
