I will be in the need for a divorce attorney soon. I'm in Palmdale and the hubby wants to stick it to me. Help.

www.SmartLaw.org - Los Angeles County Bar Lawyer Referral And Information Service (http://www.smartlaw.org/ - broken link)

There is no Antelope Valley Bar Association, evidently. But you're in Los Angeles County. See if you can get a referral for an attorney in Palmdale or Lancaster.

And that's usually a sign that the marriage is going well. Sorry to hear that.
I would see if he'd be willing to see an ombudsman first. That would save the hefty lawyers fees and give you a baseline of behavior and demands.

make a list of assets & fix a dollar amount to each, for the replacement cost. make sure none of the things in your husband's name is put suddenly in someone else's name. if so, try to document what you can.

my ex husband put some of his things in his parents' names to hide assets. he deliberately didn't work legit jobs for years just to avoid paying child support which was a negligible $300/month total for 2 children.

beware that people take sides in divorce situations & it's not a pretty experience.

warm regards,

Kate
