Is the 405 North and 101 S just as bad during the morning commute as the 405 S and the 101 N?
Is there such a thing as going 'against' the traffic or is it all just one big snarled mess?
I have 30 minutes to get from Olympic and Roxbury in LA to North Hollywood/Studio City for a very tightly scheduled meeting and I have no idea where I'm going (other than using mapquest).

take coldwater canyon all the way to studio city and you might be able to make it in 30 minutes... and that's a big might. if there's an accident on coldwater then you're screwed. that way is faster than taking any freeway.

Default Rats is correct.

To answer part of your question, the 405N is usually less congested than the 405S in the morning.
