So I came here from Houston a few months ago for a business venture and love it so much I am staying and opening up a branch of my law practice. My practice is centered around startups, small businesses and internet companies. I've noticed that there is plenty of diversity but not a lot of integration outside of Hollywood and Downtown. I'd prefer to be within 10-15 minutes of the beach. I'd like to live and work in a young, integrated part of town where the community could use my services. Any suggestions on where to put down some roots?

Default clarifying...

I'd like to clarify a bit... I am talking about racial diversity and living in a community that has a mix of cultures and people that integrate with each other... Thanks for "Venice and Santa Monica"... I do like santa monica...

If by integrated part of town you mean racially diverse, then Hawthorne, Lawndale, Inglewood, Culver City and even North Torrance would be somewhere to look into that is within 10-15 minutes of the beach.

North Torrance? What about South Torrance? Is that the safe end?

South Torrance is the nice end - it borders Redondo and PV. There is a section there called Walteria that is arguably the most expensive in Torrance. Torrance has separated the parts of their city into different ZIP codes making it all the more easier to figure out where a place is located.
