It's been 15 years since I moved from Los Angeles, I lived near Marina Del Rey at the time.. I was 9 years old so I don't remember much about the area. Where are some of the safer areas to look for hotels away from the Airport. I will be going through a wide range of the city on my visit so any where from Anaheim up to Santa Monica is far game for recommendations. I am looking for some nicer areas as well because I am bringing my wife out to the west for the first time in her life.

Thanks in advance for you help..

Justin

Justin, me thinks you have not received any comments because these questions have been asked and answered so many times on CD. The search function is your friend. Give it a try.

Rapidfire,

There are so many safe cities you can stay in. I will assume you will have a car. You did not give a price range for your hotel stay.

Safest cities with an abundance of hotels are:

Beverly Hills

Century City

Torrance (Torrance Marriott, central location, near shopping, dining)

Cerritos (Sheraton Hotel, near restaurants, shopping, the 91/5 freeway)

Long Beach (Ocean Ave. has many hotels along Ocean Ave)
Westwood

Santa Monica has a great selection of hotels (Casa Del Mar-on the water, Lowes hotel, these are close to 3rd street Promenade, dining, shopping).

Hope this helps with your trip.

If I were you, I would stay in Beverly Hills/Century City or trek down to the Orange county coast. The tourist areas around Disneyland in Anaheim are ok too but wouldn't go too far past Disney. Hope that helps.

a lot depends on your price range. If you are going to do and see a lot and are going to be all over the city, try San Fernando Valley, Long Beach or
San Gabiel valley. Beverly Hills, of course is great but you are talking big bucks for a nice hotel...
