Moving to LA in the end of January. Looking for a cheap motel in the Hollywood area that I can stay in for a week or two while I get a place. Any suggestions?

I think we told you about a month ago not to move to LA. Don't do it.

I moved out here 5 years ago when I was 25. When I graduated from high school all I wanted to do was move straight to LA, get a job and go to college. Everyone told me not to do it from my parents to my friends, to other family members. They said go to college back home, do some internships and save a lot of money on instate tuition. That is exactly what I did and I couldn't be happier that I listened to their advice. The economy was a lot better when I graduated high school, but I know I never would have been able to make a life for myself at the age of 18 without a college degree. There are so many people here that are taking jobs that they are overqualified for because nothing else is available. I know you don't want to hear it, but you are going to have a really hard time without a job and a lot of money saved up. Please listen to our advice and move when you are more prepared. I have a feeling you are not going to be a good place in a few months if you move now.

Try doing some searches for hostels. I know there are several in the area, although I think some are only open to international travelers. I've never been to any of them and have no personal experience, but the price would be right. Here's one to get you started: Hostel in Hollywood - Banana Bungalow Backpacker Hostels USA - Hollywood, California USA - Hostels in Los Angeles - Hostels in California
