Is it just me. Or is there a higher concentration of Prius's in California than any other place in the world? I see so many of them around here.

Thanks! The new Mustang looks really nice these days. I saw one at the last LA auto show. I was surprised to see that the car had two gas tanks underneath instead of 1. And they are mode of plastic now instead of metal. They had to find a way to fit them in. But still, only one refueling port on the passengers side for the gas pump.

my vespa has been the most ideal form of transportation around the city. 60+ mpg and lane splitting gets me to my destinations faster and cheaper than any car ever could. sure there is some inherent risk, but the payoff has been worth it thus far.

You're right. There's a ton of them here. Its a combination of people wanting their liberal friends think they're helping the environment (without really doing so), and the stickers you could get to let you drive solo in the carpool lanes.

I think gas mileage has more to do with it than people trying to appease the eco-friendly crowd.

Prius - but not for the eco-friendliness. It's for the car pool lane access.

Except they don't get that great of mileage for the price premium you pay. It takes most people longer to break even on the gas savings than they'll likely keep the car.
