I would like some 'places to live' suggestions please.
My husband's employer has recently started to do poorly and not able to provide work situations on a regular basis, so we have been looking at other states where he would have more opportunities.

I am considering a position downtown LA so we are researching the area for a nice safe friendly community within proximity of LA where we can find a 3br/2ba/garage home to rent for not more than $1700 (preferably $1300-$1500). I have seen a few homes in Augora Hills that appear to fit the description, but wondered if anyone from the area had other suggestions?? PS...yes, we need something that big because we fit tight into the 1369 we have now (even with lots & lots of storage):-)

Just in case...The other job I am looking at is in Newport beach so we would need same info if you happen to have it!

Appreciate any suggestions or info that you may have to offer Thanks!!

Agoura Hills is a very nice place to live but it is a horrible commute to downtown Los Angeles.

Check out Sigalert.com Los Angeles Traffic Map for real time traffic to get an idea of how bad traffic is.

You might also consider locations to live along the metro train routes www.metro.net to avoid freeway traffic

Depending where in LA the job is, I would look for something on the Metrolink route.
