I find people in the Valley to be real friendly. I made friends at work, through other friends and at the pub. I did make a few friends on craigslist and we always go to shows together, it's great.

Because L.A. is so transient people tend to be hesitant to start something up with someone new....it's a trust issue.
My sister has met people through meetup. (I don't think there's an s.)

I think people in LA are very friendly and laid back in general. Much easier to hang out here, vs like in the midwest in a small town. Its so open minded here....whether you're gay, straight, bi...black, hispanic, legal, illegal.

-I belonged to toastmasters a few years ago, the public speaking group. Good way to meet other professionals...age 25-45, that was mostly the age range of the group I went to. A lot of mba's, career people, a few authors, one published a book on tattoos. Never know who you'll meet.

-Beach, parks, local hang outs. Dog parks. You'll get to know people eventually.

But mostly just being yourself, pursuing your own interests.

I have always met nice people by volunteering.
That way you automatically visit with folks who care about something you care about.

What are issues you like to address?

I have always said, just find places doing things that you enjoy and friends will come naturally.
