I'm got a new job in Irwindale (currently in San Francisco) and need recommendations on where to live. Ideally, I'd like a walkable downtown that is safe and has at least some shopping/restaurants. I'm married, no kids and we'll rent a 1-bedroom apartment.

I'm familiar with old town Pasadena (Colorado Blvd) but wonder if the commute to Irwindale (605 & Lower Azusa) would be at least 45 minutes during peak times? Other closer neighborhoods in Pasadena? Or other area downtowns that are nice?

Thanks very much!

TH

that will definitely be a reverse commute, you should be able to make the drive in less than 30 minutes.

Thank you, that's good to know--would the 210 E to 605 S be the way to go or could you drive city streets?

definitely use the 210. as for the 605, you may not even need to use it depending on where your office is located.

Glendora pretty much fits your description and is only about 15 minutes away from Irwindale - on a bad day...

Pasadena to Irwindale is no problems in the morning most of the time. Less than 30 minutes barring any major accidents.
