I went to Sherman Oaks yesterday on my way to school and stopped to get yogurt at Yogurtland on Van Nuys and Addison (near Van Nuys and Ventura). I parked and saw this cute little apartment building with a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, and den vacancy sign. I was just curious to see how much it would go far and it was more reasonable than I thought. It was 1320 and good location. I want to check it out inside just to see what it's like. It is doubtful I am staying in LA, but I always loved going inside houses and apartments for tours for some reason.

I had people tell me to find apartments just by driving around areas you like at scoping it out for vacancies. Craigslist is the next best thing. I think this is especially good for those like me who run from huge complexes.

Thought this would help someone for ideas

I love that Yogurtland. They are so much better than Pinkberry.

I used to date a girl that lived off van nuys just before ventura/ She had a nice 2bd 2 bth basically right off the freeway. It was a neat little place with maybe 20 units total. Parking sucked though.

YES!!!
I agree 100%. I love froyo and Pinkberry is the best. There are 2 frozen yogurt places walking distance to me, but neither is anything great. I swear Yogurtland has the BEST peanut butter yogurt.

Sounds like this place. There is covered parking though. Probably just 2 assigned spots. I parked on the street Wednesday at 2:20 and yeah pretty much the street had a million cars parked there.

Sweet location though.

Ok, I just googled the area and remember the name of the street. It was Vista Del Monte.
