which haitian restaurant are you referring to? a quick google and yelp search yielded only a handful of spots in the LA region, none of which seemed to be concentrated in a single neighborhood.

i could be wrong, but i don't think there are many haitian people in southern california. LA just doesn't seem to be a major landing point for afro-caribbean/west indian immigrants compared with south florida or the urban northeast (esp. nyc).

i hope you find the answer to your question, though. if a haitian enclave exists, i'd love to check out some of the local businesses.

yeah, tigeorges' chicken is one of the few haitian eateries that i came across in my yelp/google search. i'm curious how it compares with the super authentic haitian restaurants i've been to in brooklyn.

belizeans definitely seem to be the most prominent caribbean-influenced culture in LA. but i really don't hear much about haitians in socal. i'm a little skeptical about the 10,000 figure you cited, as ethnic community leaders of every background will often inflate their people's presence in a given area. and i have a couple of haitian friends in nyc and south florida who tell me they've never heard of any substantial haitian community in LA.

but maybe you're right - after all, demographics can and do change very quickly, especially in a super-diverse region like LA. i think the best way to find out for sure is to speak to someone on the "ground level" such as the owner of tigeorges' chicken.
