I starting thinking this was a whack job post within a few sentences but when I got to this, I knew it was a whack job post.

Yea the earthquakes creep me out.
I think that's why I picked Miami over L.A.
Hurricanes don't scare me since I have a chance to know before a hurricane comes...then it's all up to me.

This fear about earthquakes makes me laugh so much. I really doubt people in Seattle stress about Mt. Saint Helens much nor do the people in Hawaii about their volcano. There is a massive fault line in Missouri, worse than the San Andres fault but it hasn't been active in two hundred years. The buildings here are made to withstand a serious earthquake. I mean, if a 10.1 shake hits us then there is nothing can you do except die! I mean really, if a freak natural disaster occurs...not much you can do so why stress over it? All you can really do is have canned goods, first aid kit, batteries, and flashlight.

I'm not sure how much longer we can go without at massive one.

I really think that a good part of LA would even survive a magnitude 10 earthquake but I wouldn't like to see what the city would look like afterward.

Then most of California sinks into the sea and Nevada and Arizona gets beachfront property (for a ridiculously low price).

Right now many places on both sides of the Pacific are finding beachfront property a bit problematic. Monster earthquakes making massive waves will do that.

How about fewer earthquake jokes? Read the last two paragraphs of this article and start getting prepared, if you aren't already.

"scientists" have been saying the big one is next for many years. Besides it is physically impossible for the san andreas fault to create an earthquake of the magnitude of Japan's. The fault that created the earthquake is a subduction fault, San Andreas is a transform fault

The San Andreas fault is just one of many that criss cross Southern California.
