So this next batch of vacation days I get at work, I want to use them on a trip to LA. Unfortunately my last vacation days had to be cashed-in for bills I had. A lot of my "LA fantasy" stems from just a few day trips I did there. I've never actually spent a night there. So I'd like to spend about a week there, and maybe get a feel of what it would be like to live there. There's only one thing, I don't know anybody there and I have nobody to go with. I have a cousin in San Diego, he moved out there in '76 or something. I could stay with him and he'd drive us up to LA for one day maybe. But I want this trip to be all about LA. I could easily get a motel there, I just don't want to get lonely though or I get depressed. I wish there was a family like the Brady Bunch that I could live with for a week. I want to eat with them, hear about the father's day at work, play video games with the son, go shopping at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, stuff like that. The only thing that would be missing is the laugh track. Seriously though, should I stay at a youth hostel or try that couch surfing website?

LOL...very funny post. Though I know you are also being serious. Given your interest, I think you should stay in LA, NOT SD.

Have no idea what the couch surfing website is but sounds like it might be worth a try.....

That said, you can actually see the Brady Bunch house which was used for the exterior shots in the orig. series. It is located in the flats of Studio City. Pretty sure you can find it by googling it. Maybe knock on the door and Mrs. B or Alice will invite you in for dinner.

I think LA is a friendly enough city where you could very easily meet people once you get to town. There are so many lounges downtown, so many hollywood clubs, so many bars along the beach. as long as u dont come on too strong, and scare the people off. you will make friends in no time! So get a room and hit the town!

Those smoke free bars must be nice! However I did stop drinking about 3 months ago. I probably ought to stay out of bars for my own well being. But don't get me wrong I do like people and live music. I'm just going to have to network hard, there's got to be somebody I know out there.
