I don't know specific restaurants, but I'm sure the best dim sum in LA is to be found in the San Gabriel Valley. I'd focus my search in that part of town. Specifically the southern portion of the SGV.

thanks, but, i also like to hear from people on here since many yelps are fake and people who get free meals from the restaurant to post on yelp under more then one tag name...In NV majority of the restaurants who know you will give you free meals or drinks for you to post several positive posts for them under several names...

have you ate there and do they have dim sum and have you tried the dim sum in particular? if not its of little value to me

My family and I like to go to Empress Pavilion - Dim Sum . Judging by how busy it gets on the weekends, it might be one of the best in Chinatown.

If you do go to Empress Pavilion, the entrance to their parking structure is on Bernard St. The restaurant is in Bamboo Plaza so they have plenty of space. Just a friendly reminder since a lot of people ends up parking somewhere far or expensive on their first time. Make sure you validate :-)

Sea Harbour in Rosemead IMO. It's also Zagat Survey's best dim sum restaurant as well. I will say that Elite is really close in quality and the lines are much shorter in general. If you go to Sea Harbour on the weekends you will often wait 45-60 minutes.

So many dim sum restaurants in SGV area...it's impossible to simply pick a best one unless you try all of them many times.
Here's a list of dim sum restaurants that some Chinese have recommended:
NBC seafood restaurant
404 S Atlantic Boulevard
Monterey Park, CA 91754

Capital seafood
755 West Garvey Avenue, Monterey Park

Monterey Park Empress Harbour
111 North Atlantic Boulevard, Monterey Park, CA‎

New Capital Seafood, 140 West Valley Boulevard, San Gabriel, CA‎

If you read Chinese, here's a good guide to dim sum places in LA:
