i haven't met many french people in LA, but i know they exist. there is a lovely little french bakery/cafe in venice on abbot kinney that you should check out.

Not too much French here, but you'll find plenty of Vietnamese that speak the language and share some of the culture, and I heard a few people ordering in French at the Thai restaurant I went to lunch at today(which I guess isn't too surprising given Thailand's history).

Dont' go to Bastille day in L.A. It's a jip. I tried it last year and this year I'm going to Santa Barbara for their French festival instead. Not French BTW, just like learning new things.
