I'm 20-something, just out of college, and looking for a fun, walkable place to live that has a lot of nightlife and activity going on. With work (I'll be traveling in the car around LA and Orange county a lot), I'd prefer to have a garage, but not have to depend on driving on the weekend. Long Beach is as far north I could live with my commute. Oh, and I'll need to rent.

1. I've heard about Downtown Long Beach, Naples, Signal Hill, and Belmont Shore. Are any of these neighborhoods better for what I'm looking for than others?

2. What other fun/young/walkable/active neighborhoods in SoCal should I consider? - I don't want to end up bored on the weekends

Please advise!
