the best area in santa monica IMHO is the the ocean park neighborhood, which is also very near the beach.

If money WEREn't an issue, I'd get one of those houses right on PCH. Everyone at the beach wonders who lives there! Or for a little more privacy, one of those nice big houses near Montana Ave., probably between Montana and Wilshire so it's walking distance to all the stuff on either street.

It's not that bad in the summer. I have been in the water in a while, but around this time last year it wasn't too bad.

ETA: Unless you meant living that close to the water?

Thanks for the suggestion! The ocean park neighbourhood sounds good,is it near the promenade? Is there any apartment complexes with a pool around Ocean Front you would suggest? Im going to try to research it and look at some reviews too myself
Also for a young girl, thats going to be working, going to school and also wants to have fun when im not doing both, where do you suggest? Near the promenade in SM or Hermosa Beach?

If money wasn't an issue, I'd look at Manhattan Beach too.
