I am in OK now. I will be moving to LA by Aug. I have looked for housing online and the following 2 locations met my criteria. Even though I move only on Aug, I was told by the landlords to make a deposit within 7 days or they are going to consider other offers. I am in a position right now that I cannot come to LA just to look at these 2 houses, that too within a week.

If anyone is familiar with these locations, can you please help me on these?

The only criteria I am looking for is the area has to be safe and should be in a residential neighbourhood.

1) First house is on Intersection of E Arbor Vitae Street & Maple Street
2) Second house is on Intersection of E Arbor Vitae Street & S La brea Avenue

Thanks in advance.

Well, from what I know about the surrounding area, I wouldn't live there. It's a really congested section of town and I doubt that it's safe at night.

Any apartments within 5 miles radius from LMU is the one I am looking on right now. I am going to be a student @ LMU for Fall 2010.

Because of my shoestring economy, (no aid/grant to pay my fees ) I am looking for less than $ 1,200 rent.
