The off shore oil rig is now spilling up to 40,000 gallons a day. This sucks! Louisiana has one of the most unique and thriving ecosystems in the country. I'm praying for the best way to clean this up.

It needs to get Cleaned up and I pray that bp will be paying for this catastrophe!! The way the economy is and the gouging that oil companies have been placing on us for the past years, seems to me it would make perfect sense to start deploying an army of WORKERS to start cleaning!!! Should folks really volunteer??? I understand that this is a HUGE loss and accountability needs to be placed!!!

We're not exactly celebrating that honor...

The timing could not have been worse with the high winds preventing remediation efforts.

Truly awful. Anything folks in the other states can do? The Bayous are a global treasure.

I wonder why the oil companies can't have a joint contigency plan and equipment to deal with the possibility of this kind of occurence.

Maybe they do?

I feel ashamed that BP has yet again ballsed things up.

(From someone who lived in Houston when BP had that explosion at their refinery).

This is very, very sad, especially for the folks of Louisiana. It's been tough times for them lately.

If you're a shrimp lover, stock up now. The prices will be doubling very soon!
