First off, the lady who owned a chimp as a pet which had ripped off the face of her friend did not live in the south so quit with the "only in the south" remarks.

Secondly, I don't agree with him using the Tiger to make money. That's why I don't stop at his business. If the Tiger isn't making him money then he'd get rid of the tiger. The official Tiger mascot of LSU gets much better treatment. He/she lives like a king/queen. The owner was already brought before court by animal rights activist and the courts ruled in his favor based on the existing laws on the books. As others have said, we have more important things to worry about than a well fed tiger in a cage.

symptomatic of the backwards mentality of southerners in general.

I know plenty of backwards people and they COME from all walks of life. Why do South LA people get labeled like this? If you come for a visit I'd bet any amount of money you'd want to stay. Southern Hospitality isn't something you can find anywhere in the US.
