7 to 8 weeks into this thang and now bp has completely pulled the dome off the well and it is free flowing into the gulf unrestricted. It's ashamed they didn't have a better plan from the start, the gulf and the folks that live around the gulf(especialy Louisiana are gona pay for this for decades to come, it's a pathetic situation.

They uncapped the well only to install what all of us hope is a better cap. This was an anticipated and planned event.

There WAS a plan. It was the blow-out preventer, a proven technology which has worked well in the past.

That it failed is little more than a co-incidence, an accident. Neither BP, nor anyone else, can have a plan to address every conceivable scenario because nobody can predict the future nor foresee every possible thing which can go wrong.

No matter what CNN wants you to believe, BP is not evil incarnate. They may have short-circuited some regulations, but who among us haven't done that ourselves or what business doesn't do it routinely?

There was an unforeseen accident in the Gulf, that's all. And BP has done everything they could possibly to do to correct it.

Anywhere else in the world two blow out preventors would have been REQUIRED.

Nice rant, but somewhat pointless. You seem to have let Wolf Blitzer or someone whip you into a frenzy and that's about all you have to offer.

An accident happened and anybody can look back and assign blame. Heck, that's the easy part, but what good does it do? Determine what happened and try to prevent it happening again? Sure, that's valid. But that's not what you're doing. You're just raving in outrage, determined to blame someone and get vengance.

So tell me, Mr. Outraged, what HAS BP done wrong since the accident? What COULD they have done better, in your estimation? Not before the blowout...since then.

Oh...and by the way...it's NOT the end of the world. The Gulf isn't going to turn into a dead sea and the fishing and shrimping will come back. So will the tourists. Within a decade, there won't be much long term residual impact from this spill. Believe it or not, but the earth is self-cleansing and the sites of other major oil spills recovered nicely, in spite of the alarmist rhetoric coming from the Enviro-nuts. The Gulf will too.
