seeing as Louisiana has one of the lowest rates of relocation from other states and the population really doesnt change much (except when Katrina hit) Id like to know where all those other people who "used to" be in Lafayette are now. Or are you suggesting they all turned into hipsters?
Just because River Ranch exists doesnt mean Lafayette is a city of spoiled rich kids.

Lafayette, as of now, has three Business Districts......all have the amenities that a downtown in any city would support.....there is the traditional Downtown Lafayette, The Oil Center of Lafayette, and River Ranch Village of Lafayette.

The traditional Downtown is soon to be home to a highrise condo complex on Jefferson street

All three business Districts have a good amount of construction going on this year (2013)
