Well it looks like the boardwalk is officially open, and I think they are adding a second waterline. Idk what's to come of the old lakefront hotel, maybe give it a make over, b/c I bet it's filthy.

I wonder how well the boardwalk will stand up against storms?

I really hope it stands well b/c it's a nice boardwalk, and it took us five years just to get the first phase! Palms usually do rather well in storms.

KPLC Hot Topic: Hard Rock Casino
KPLC Hot Topic: Mardi Gras Boardwalk

These are two possible things in the revitalization

I personally like the former 100%, however the latter is good, but I do think the roller coaster is a bit ridiculous.

Give me your stance.

I like both, but I'm not a fan of a Ferris wheel. Makes it too much like Contraband Days year-around.

I actually don't have the issue w/ the ferris wheel, but the roller coaster especially stretching over the lake, you know that if a hurricane were to hit the lake area again, that thing would be under water. I agree w/ you though about the contraband days year around thing though. I'm also worried that if they chose that plan to do w/ that we would have to start paying to go to the boardwalk, thus the only ppl getting to enjoy it would be tourists.

I visited that boardwalk about a couple of weeks ago and I really do not see the hype about it. It certainly wasn't worth the price tag it took to build it.
