Ok we are looking at moving to the West Monroe area and have a few questions.
First, how close is the nearest beach?
How is the cost of living? ( gas prices, utilities, real estate?)
How are the school systems? We have one who will be in 7th grade next year.
Are there a lot of family oriented events? ( Fairs, street dances, bowling alley, movies..etc)
How is the weather there?
How is the job market?
And is there a lot of drama? Dumb question I know, but where we are now everyone knows everyones business lol.
Thanks in advance

Ok we are looking at moving to the West Monroe area and have a few questions.
First, how close is the nearest beach? Toward Ruston it's not exactly a beach but beach like. There is sand by the river at Lazarre Park.

How is the cost of living? ( gas prices, utilities, real estate?) Pretty cheap. Gas is 2.79 for premium that's all I use. Real estate is nice can buy in low 30's.
How are the school systems? We have one who will be in 7th grade next year. Great school systems really into athletics.
Are there a lot of family oriented events? ( Fairs, street dances, bowling alley, movies..etc) Fair is here now, they have something often. It's posted in the local paper the Ouachita Citizen or The Newsstar. You can google it.
How is the weather there? Very nice weather.
How is the job market? Depends on where you are looking. There is call centers, factory work, etc.
And is there a lot of drama? People are kind of spread out in some areas crime is low as far as I've seen.
