Awesome!! I spend quite a bit of free time looking up information and checking out photos of the areas, but that's not even close to breathing the air, and seeing the sights with my own eyes.

The thing about Louisiana is that we dont quantify our worth as a state by statistics or rankings. We rank dead last or close to last in many areas but you'll find that people here genuinely love where they live, because they can see past the shortcomings and enjoy the state for the unique things it offers.
It helps that the food is amazing and the music is world-reknowned, but there is a general joie de vivre here. People get up in the morning and actually look forward to the day, and you can tell.

We appreciate the kind words. I think that Louisiana of course has the typical southern hospitality on one hand, but unlike much of the rest of the Deep South, there is such a cultural melting pot that we are more willing to accept long term transplants, as well as people who are more unusual for the area.
