What town would be best for a 3 texans to move to? It will be me,my fiance and our friend. There are no children at the moment, but there will be two dogs. My fiance has experience in Law Enforcement, I have little experience and so does our friend. My fiance is 19,his friend is 19,and I'm 17. We live in West Texas and plan on moving somewhere small but not too small or too big. We are tired of Texas.
Any suggestions?

I may be biased but I am in love with the area known as Acadiana. Lafayette is the main city but I wouldn't call living there "cheap". It is inexpensive, however, compared to New Orleans. I can make the same starting salary as a teacher ($40,000+) but pay twice the rent in New Orleans as opposed to Lafayette. There are a lot of towns in Acadiana with a ton of character, not too small either. Examples would be Opelousas, Abbeville, Breaux Bridge, Carencro, Rayne.. If you were from somewhere like Houston or Beaumont you would already see a lot of Acadiana's culture there.. East Texans eat Cajun food like its nobody's business. But there is nothing here that compares to West Texas, and that sounds like what you are after. Acadiana is friendly as hell, it's the Cajun French heartland, which means that drinking and festivals are a part of life. Even small towns of 1,000 people have their own festival. Hope that helped.

We are really looking for something way different than Texas lol. We are wanting to move somewhere small first because maybe it would be cheap for 3 people lol! What's the average rent cost for a 2 bedroom house with a fenced yard?

Rayne/Crowley/Scott areas. not too expensive, best food in the region, and a lot of awesome Cajun folks.
