Interesting CSA/MSA map of the USA and Puerto Rico.

The Gulf Coast looks like a premature Boston-D.C. area.

So the BR and NO CSAs actually touch.

The LC CSA to the Mobile CSA touch. If we weren't so littered with swamps/wet lands/marshes along the 10 corridor the coast might be more developed. I wonder when the BRNO CSA will develop.

Lake Charles- 225,235

Alexandria and Houma aren't listed here because their metros don't combine with any micro areas.
I'm sorry that doesn't make sense..the Alex metro area is almost twice the size of Ft. Polk's metro....Considering CD and other websites show the city is growing as well as my own observations of the increasing number of Hispanics and other foreigners in the area I would say the Alex metro has had noteworthy growth the last decade.

Alexandria and Houma/Thibodaux are MSAs that are not inside of a CSA so they aren't listed. Alexandria may be larger, but it is not combined with a Micropolitan area to form a Combined area.

And you are right. Check the first page of this thread. You'll see that the Alexandria metro was the third fastest growing in LA over the last decade at 6.3%.

Is there any way of finding out who moved to Alexandria? Perhaps which "class" they would be classified in. Excuse me for saying class but I can't think of another way to say it at the time.
To say that Alexandria is growing is a surprise to me, I get the impression that its a city locked in time with no new residents. Can anyone disprove me? I'd like to see the city in the center grow alot more.

It's interesting that Beaumont does not seem to have a CSA. It's not colored blue, or am I reading it correctly?

They also include DeRidder in that one, but a significant number of people commute to and from DeRidder and Lake Charles. It's only a 45 minute drive. However, that number may not have been enough to include in the LC CSA/MSA.
