hi to everyone,my name is mike i am originally from galveston tx.am living in new mexico now,but truly miss the south, more caring friendly people there than all the other places i have visited.i have visited louisiana and always found the people really great.i was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are places in the boonies that a middle aged guy could find to park and live in a camper without the county or whoever saying you cant live in a camper.where i am at now the county is breathing down my neck and is going to make me move my camper,i could lose it all together if i dont find a place to move it,am disabled and live off a small social security check.i stay to myself and try not to bother anyone but cant seem to find anywhere that i wont be bothered with, just trying to find a place to live out my days in peace.even if i do find a place somewhere else it is going to be a chore for me to get it there since i only have a car.all i need is water and someplace to plug into electric or i could possibly do without electric or get a generator.any help would be wonderfull

Hi Mikey,

I have seen a lot of RV/Camper style parks in the central and northwest regions of Louisiana spring up over the years. If you have some income, you will be able to afford a space. I believe if you look for advertisements in Louisiana, or even travel along the older highways, you will eventually come across a deal.

I'll see if I can find some links for you. I believe there is an area or two (in several towns) around Toledo Bend that offers parking. I say this, because that area is really nice, in my opinion.

Can you buy a small piece of land? Most towns I am familiar with do not have strict codes about this type of lifestyle, because there is no zoning.

Any boonies, I am familiar with, have no zoning restrictions. In some locations it is common for people to live in RV/Camper style homes.

From my experience, it is safe to say that you will be allowed.
