He was perhaps the most intelligent man we ever had in that office. Too bad he used his talents to benefit only himself and his people rather than Louisiana. He definitely put on the accent and the people ate it up. My great-grandmother used to always talk about what a "purdy man" he was in her broken English..if you said you weren't voting for him she'd ask you to leave her house!

But seriously, we can't even look at that era with a sense of nostalgia or gratitude. He screwed us.

He reminds me of Huey Long . He did a lot for some people , and did even more for himself .

One of EWE's all-time favorites for cutting budgets was cutting education.

What's even more amazing was that he was "elected" 3 times.

I am sure that EWE is a likeable fun guy. But for governor again-no thanks, we'll pass.

That is the stupidest thing I read all day. Sure, let's bring him back so he can commit more extortion and thus drive more industry out of Louisiana. I suggest you pay a visit to the Lafayette Public library and read a book called "Just Taking Orders" by Clyde Vidrine. Read that book to see how corrupt him and his friends really are.

Atleast he can give a better speech than Jindal. That response to the state of the union last year was horrible. If we can elect a President based solely on his eloquent speeches, why not a governor?
