Its not about that. If it works then it works.
If making LA Tech or UL a flagship and merging them into a smaller system benefit us, whats the issue?

OP said most other states use the "University of ______" model for their flagship institutions. Clearly not reason for LSU to not be the flagship university, or to have been named something else. Universities are supposed to promote diversity and free-thinking, so a go with the flow stance on something as trivial as word order of the name is just dumb.

We're on two different pages is all. I thought you meant the way the university systems are structured.

Nope. I try not to concern myself with that, because I will only get angry over the fact that certain schools are allowed to remain autonomous despite graduation rates in the single digits.
