I was more thinking the more traditional Southern culture vs completely Cajun and Creole dominated like New Orleans, Lafayette or Lake Charles are, more socially conservative. I know the Northshore USED TO be that way 20 years ago when I last lived in Louisiana, before the massive suburban expansion by NO transplants.

I would like to visit Monroe some time for sure, and Duck Dynasty IS a great show and Phil Robertson is one of my favorite celebrities. (y'all gotta admit he's better than the Kardashians, Taylor Swift, etc)

Monroe is a very impoverished city with high crime and no kind of cosmopolitanism or progress. It's about as polar opposite as you can get in Louisiana. Alexandria is more like Monroe, Jackson would also be a far better comparison.

Phil Robertson is pretty disgusting.
